IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS:

**LOCATION CHANGE FOR DRESS REHEARSAL**
The theatre director at Shadow Ridge has offered to let us run the full dress rehearsal at the high school.  So Thursday 5pm-7pm will be at Shadow Ridge High School. He is donating his time and the venue Thursday to us, so please be on time. I will set up a donation jar at the recital as a “Thank You” to him. It will go towards his theatre department at Shadow Ridge High school.

1. The Opening & Closing Number rehearsals have been scheduled on the following dates & times: Saturday May 4th 1-2pm, Tuesday May 7th 5pm-6pm, Saturday May 11th 1-2pm, Wednesday May 15th 5pm-6pm (only ballet II and III, including Abby), Saturday May 18th 1pm-2pm, Wednesday May 22 5-6pm & Saturday May 25 12:30-1:30pm. Your child is not required to participate in the opening & closing numbers, but since we've only had 3 weeks to learn these dances, rehearsals are critical. If a dancer misses more than 2 rehearsals, they will not be able to perform. See below for specific information about costuming for these numbers & full rehearsal schedule for show week!
2. If your child is participating in the closing number, he or she will need to purchase a NEW studio t-shirt: cost $23. (Please let me know if you would like me to charge the card I have on file for the t-shirt. It is specific to this number, so it will be NEW).​
3. HAIR - All female dancers need to pull side hair back, then put hair in ponytail, create bun from ponytail.  This will make it easier to backstage group to change hair styles quickly.
4. MAKEUP - On stage with lights a dancers face can be washed out.  Please add mascara blush and lipstick to all dancers. Older dancers should add eyelashes, eye shadow and additional contouring. Alina Johnson has kind enough to offer help with hair and makeup the day of the recital.  Please email me if you would like to schedule time with her.
5. Everyone should have received their costumes by now.  If you received a tutu, hang it upside down so that it doesn't flatten out.  The tulle is easily melted, so I recommend steaming it in the bathroom upside down or with a steamer.  If you want to use an iron use low heat.
6. All dancers should wear nude leotard and tights layered in show order (female dancers), black jazz pants and  t-shirt. Costumes should be in a garment bag.
7. Label all items your dancer brings with the dancers name...with all of the quick changes happening, if something gets misplaced, we want to be able to return it.
8. May 30 thru June 1, we will be having long rehearsals, so the dancers may need snacks to keep their energy up. Please do not send snacks that will stain the costumes (absolutely no Cheetos or other cheesy crackers that get the hands all orange. Water only, no juice or colored drink).

• ​Ballet III Monday – High pony tail, nude tights, nude ballet shoes
• Pointe – bun, nude tights, black pointe shoes
• Ballet II Tuesday – half up/half down, nude tights, nude ballet shoes
• Ballet III Tuesday - half up/half down, pink tights, pink ballet shoes
• Contemporary – half up/half down, nude tights, nude ballet shoes
• Ballet I Thursday – half up/half down, nude tights, nude ballet shoes
• Ballet II&III Thursday – half up/half down, pink tights, pink ballet shoes
• Hip Hop – high ponytail, nude tights, black jazz shoes
• Ballet/Tap Combo – bun, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes
• Ballet I Saturday – bun, pink tights, pink ballet shoes
• Jazz – ponytail, Hawaiian shirt, black jazz pants, black socks/ side bun left, nude tights under black fishnets, black jazz shoes.
• Opening Number – white long sleeved button up shirt, zipper tie (any color), black vest (dark
  brown, navy blue, dark grey are ok), black jazz pants, black socks, black shoes
• Closing Number – black jazz pants, black socks, black shoes, studio t-shirt, mask

NOTE: ALL dancers are required to attend both the Full Dress Rehearsal and Show Rehearsal. Come in nude leotard, tights, black jazz pants and t-shirt. Costume should be in a garment bag and labeled with dancer's name...
